Hotel Libertador came to 40N47 Design, Inc., for us to design the logos and branding for their hotels Tambo del Inka (Urubamba), Paracas (Paracas) and Palacio del Inka (Cusco). One of their requests was to develop wayfinding based on autochthon materials from Paracas and the Sacred Valley in Peru. Working with an expert resource team from Peru, 40N47 Design, Inc. created more than 30 typologies consisting of innovative and impressive environmental graphics for these 5-star, Luxury Collection Resorts.
Logo: the face of branding
For the past 5 years, Diego has been giving workshops and talks about logos and branding in Latin America, Europe and China. Students from La Paz, Havana, Valencia and Beijing (among other cities) were eager to learn about the stories behind the logos, the way the designers came up with their concepts and their methods of executions. “Thus, the idea for this book was born, one that could answer my students’ questions. I interviewed more than 40 designers from all over the world. Not only logo designers, but also accomplished graphic designers, typographic designers, letterers and artists all who have their hand in logos and branding. After 3 years of work and research, this book is out and I hope you get to enjoy it.”
Tarot del Tango
We were invited to design and curate this project. The main challenge was to bring the world of Tango and combine it with the world of Tarot. This collectible deck of cards gathers never before seen art of 22 contemporary Argentine artist who portray the Major Arcana. The Minor Arcana is transformed into Bandoneones, Facones, Champagne glasses and Farolas.
